Hi Morag.
The missus and me had a pretty miserable Xmas and New Year. We were both down with the flu for nearly 3 weeks. It's been a really bad epidemic here this year. And that's with us having had the flu-jab too.
We had to pass up our Xmas dinner with the family and a Hogmanay party.
We're back on form again but we missed the whole 2016 festive season.
JD.
Sorry Meg. Just realised we're way off topic.

In thinking on it, we always had HP sauce, worcestershire, tabasco, soy (dad was in the navy..he brought stuff back ;) )..don't think we ever had ketchup.

Ashamed to add, I'm lying in ma kip enjoying the soft sound of rainfall. (well, no' really ashamed..reality will hit soon enough!)

Morag, My mother-in-law said " thoroughbreds don't fatten" and hubby certainly doesn't. He is the same weight now as he was when we met umpteen years ago. Me, on the other hand - well we won't go there.

Just came back from a holiday back in the old country. had several Scottish Pies in the "kandy Bar" Brilliant the Best.
the next best I had was in Albany New York State. We were at a highland gathering and along come a caravan with "Peter The Pie Maker" printed on the side of the Van. He was selling home made Scottish Pies, and they were delicious. By the way he came from Paisley, It's a small World.

This year they have won two silver and one bronze for cakes and wheaten rolls. No mention of pies.
