Come on Micheal wee clue, saying that it's no Brodick Castle by any chance ?
Nice white Elephants .

Re: Where exactly do you think this photo was taken?
Shouldn't be too too difficult for someone who recognises White Elephants from afar on a mantelpiece.
Incidentally, If indeed they are Ivory, in those days it wasn't frowned upon. Nowadays of course it's a no no.

Re: Where exactly do you think this photo was taken?
I'm asking for the exact location.
i.e. the name of the room.
Edit. It's 'The Drawing Room' inside Brodick Castle, so meekan and brian f were indeed on the right track
Incidentally, taking photos inside the Castle isn't allowed but as I had my camera strapped round my neck when buying my ticket and no-one said anything, I wasn't aware of that. I'd only managed a couple of shots before a very courteous lady guide informed me of the pic ban.
Here's a crop of another photo, showing the mirror above the fireplace and various other 'Treasures'

No Michael, I had identified it yesterday but decided to wait a day to see if others had a clue. I just need to take my time and read all the posts on topic.michaelm wrote:You're either being pedantic or you've missed the boat Neil

Re: Where exactly do you think this photo was taken?
LP, I think the slight confusion was caused by me editing one of my earlier posts and giving the answer to the question. You had probably read the unedited version previously and assumed the question was still 'open'
So it's really a mistake on my part here. Well done for identifying it as The Drawing Room though.

Why do I think it the Eglinton Arms?
