Hi Irene,

Thanks for that - I can see what is thought to be the dovecote near the castle, well away from the footbridge. here's part of the map you pointed to.

I see the style of the building near the castle similar to the Eglinton Dovecote at Irvine - see this very interesting video

Its very strange, I and my pals played on the cannon Hill for years. probably a year or so before you Hughie, and I cant remember every seeing that building. I'm sure if we had seen it we would have been in there exploring.

The fact that others older than me can't recall the building has alway puzzled me too, George. I'll always remember it because that poo that was thrown during play caught me with my mouth open. :shock: I know... I didn't want to admit it but there we are - how could I forget such an incident.

Anyone with more details please jump in - let's prove I'm not talking sh*t. //funny
