River Ayr and New Bridge from the Auld Brig

Post by georgersweir »

The water was really clear and still this morning giving a sharp reflection of bridge and buildings.

Yes, I like that. It just shows that if you are in the right place at the right time and you have your camera you can get spectacular results.

For those of you who like buses with your bridges, here is a second shot that includes both.

Makes me want to head straight to the Citadel. Will just have to make do with Auchenharvie instead shortly.

I prefer the second photo georgersweir as it's more expansive looking. The reflection in the river of the building on the left and the view of the Church on the right give a bit more balance to things, for me anyway.

The main eyecatcher though,is still the reflection of the bridge itself and to be honest I didn't even notice the bus at first (excuse the pun) Great looking photo. :)

I agree with Michael, your second pic is (to my eyes) compositionally much more striking than the first. It’s quite a shot.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with Michael and Iain that the second picture is compositionally more pleasing and Retsum is certainly right about place and time :-)
