Re: Dog in Arran
That's my kinda dug; one that plays golf and licks icecream.
Years ago, when we lived in Castle Ave, up the Hayocks, Polacci's icecream van came round. When we got icecream, Cap, our boxer/labrador cross, Always got a thruppeny pokeyhat for himself. It was difficult getting him to lick it. He just wanted to get into it all at one go.
He didn't play golf.

Re: Dog in Arran
Lovely! my Gordon setter loved bread and beer but the mutt I have now, a beagle mix supposedly, would happily eat anything I'm eating. Sitting staring with starved dog eyes and a bowl full of food behind him.

Re: Dog in Arran
Funny you mention keeping a dog clean.
Our border collie, Kerry, (now no longer with us), could come home from a walk in the mud and the rain, really mucky. Within a half hour he would be pristine clean again. The muck just seemed to fall off him. I always thought it was something to do with some kind of oil in his coat. The strange thing was, that the floor and carpets did not get dirty from him.
Now if I could only figure out what the cause of that was, and get it patented, I'd make Bill Gates look like a pauper.

It's quite simple John, after the walk when you were having your nap, the wife would wash the dog and the floor, then hoover the carpets, so that when you woke up. Bingo.John Donnelly wrote:Funny you mention keeping a dog clean.
