In deference to Meg, as I don't want a skelp up the back o' the heid if we meet again, the weather does seem to have been awful and I'm reading stuff about Polar vortex..California trundles along, mild and sunny, ho hum...just waiting for the next major 'quake..

Never heard of this polar vortex Morag i hope it stays away from the uk, Where i live in Cambridge the weather is just normal boring as usual no thrills lol apart for a bit of high wind just before xmas.

Aye Brian, they are claiming the polar vortex is to blame for the world's wild weather. I tried to cut and paste an article from the Telegraph from the new Google Chrome my kids got me for Christmas, but couldn't figure it out...same old, same old.

Morag, the younger generation are in so much of a fast mode in technology i gave up asking them for advice

On the news today, some parts of the USA are colder than the South pole

Brian, my son took a wee card thingie oot ma camera and posted photies tae ma computer, the new wan..i'll need tae have him show me how tae post on here! It feels very cold here and I've the CH on but when I check only mid 50s outside, and 70 in..I've jumper on, wrap aroond and blanket boot ma legs.. still cauld..but all else agree so it's no' just me shimmeyin' tae auld age!

Is there any more on the theory that the Gulf Stream is slowing and threatening to stop - thus causing the extreme cold or is that discredited now? Wee Ali
