Re: Social Gathering
Meg, if we get a mix of old and new members it could be fun to have a " introduce yourself night". Not that I'm scared to defend my quiz crown you know, but that wee trophy has taken on sentimental values and is now part of my desk top memorabilia.

Introduce yourself night? God, there is no way I would go to that. If you were sitting with people, you would wind up introducing yourself anyway?!?!

I think that's what LP was meaning Viv - dont think we would make new members stand up and introduce themselves - not this time anyway

Re: Social Gathering
OK, my pub spy in the 3 towns has told me that the Grants is available for us to hold a social gathering on Friday 23rd November. We now need to firm up on two things - numbers and what we are going to do. How about a wee pub quiz for an hour or so with an extended break mid way to allow everyone to catch up on the local news and gossip, with some soup to sustain the inner quizling:-)
Can you please email me, pm me, or post if you are considering coming along. Those of you who have already posted to say you are going to be there, dont need to post again.

Hughie/Meg:
Would it not be better if this thread was made a 'stickie' for a set period of time ?
That way it would be kept uppermost in peoples minds, just as a subtle reminder.
Rather than have it slipping down & possibly off the page. Out of sight - out of mind.
That might make your organisation efforts that little bit easier ?
BTW: I have deliberately not given a response, until now, because I don't know if I can.
Between now and the end of the year, I have got 5 family birthday gatherings and a military parade
to attend. Then there is the matter of getting organised for Hogmanay. Not to mention travel arrangements.
I will be keeping an eye on the organisation progress yous make before I know if we can make it.
So, until then, I can't say Yae or Nae.

Re: Social Gathering
howay, LP is actually a quiet, shy bloke in real life, nothing like his online persona. only reason he won that quiz was due to the quality and quantity of his team, thats my excuse and i am sticking to it lol
