We saw this cruise ship from the beach at Ayr this morning (photo by Meg) but it was too far away to see the name. A small launch was stationary beside the liner, suggesting that passengers had already been taken ashore. I have heard in previous years of German cruise liners calling at the town. Can anyone tell us the ship's identity ...and what about the tanker(?) that is anchored in the background?

Thanks Tom. The Astor looks like an appealing medium-sized cruise ship. I've never been on a cruise, though I know that there are many keen fans (such as Hughie and Betty)... If anyone fancies a trip on the Astor details are available heremcgrattan wrote:George
