How do I emphasise in boldface ?

Post by Richard »

Apparently, when compiling a post and you type full words, or sentences, in capital letters (or upper case),
this is classed as "SHOUTING". I have been using this to emphasise certain words, but have been informed
that that is an American system and that I should be emphasising in "boldface".
Can someone explain, in simple terms please, how I can achieve this ?

There are two ways to achieve the bold effect. Either select the text that you want to embolden and then click the 'B' button (top left on the message editing screen), or simply put the left square bracket, followed by the lower-case letter 'b', followed by the right square bracket at the start of the text that you want to have bold and put the left square bracket, followed by the "/" character, followed by lower-case letter 'b', followed by the right square bracket at the end of the required bold section.
I'm still saving up for a signature.

Thank's, George:
I'll experiment here, a bit later on, when I've got a bit more time.
