Ma first twa bikes wur hawn doons,But ah made enought money floggin pies at the (Now legendary,Orange walk) in Urdrussan,fur a local shop in 1962.The following day ah went doon tae "Climys" bike shop in Princess St and bought a brand new "Raeigh Palm Beach ",fur £23.(sp),ah made mair in one day than ma dad make in a week.The pies wur a tanner,but folk kept gein me 2 bobs and Huaf Croons and tellin me tae keep the change.

Rowanside, a nearly hud a new racin bike wance. Ma dad took me tae a warehoose in Glesga tae pick wan. After a hud picked the bike a wanted I had to wait till it was transferred to Harris,s across fae the polis station in Green St.
When I went to collect it with my dad he noticed it had been damaged in transit, never seen the bike again, looking back I think the financial circumstances had changed.
