I was a good friend of Jim's and remember he and Alison emigrating in 1978. My parents Bob and Janet Hammersley used to visit Jim on route to my sister Anne in Montreal. Jim and Alison lived in Mississauga. I remember Alison's death with sadness. I spoke with her on the phone a few weeks before she passed away. I believe their daughter was a great dancer- maybe still is!
I'm glad to learn Jim is still at the golf. We used to play together at Ardeer. I live in Italy nowadays and have lost touch with Jim. I'd love to resume contact as we are getting to be old boys nowadays!

Hello! You must be Gillian. My older brother Len Hammersley, is a good pal of your dad's and they played golf together at Ardeer golf club. I moved to Canada a year before your mum and dad, and saw them, as well as you and your wee brother Christopher, and Aunt Avril, on my mum and dad's yearly visits to us in Montreal. Really happy to hear your dad is doing well and still golfing. Len is too, living in Kent, and getting plenty of golf in! I'm living in Nova Scotia now with my husband Bob, who has met your dad a few times. Two of our three sons are in Nova Scotia as well as two grandsons. Please tell your dad I say hello.jlovemcmeekin wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 5:55 pm Hello, this is my family![]()
My dad is Jim Love, my aunt was Avril, and my grandparents were Tom & Sadie.
Avril moved to Canada first, I would guess in the 60's. My mum (Alison Bolton) Dad, and I went to Canada in 1978 when I was 3. Tom & Sadie came to Canada as well, within a few years of us.
My Dad is doing well. Enjoys a lot of golf - 123 games last year! - and is a happy Grandpa. One of his granddaughters (my daughter) is called Sadie, after her great-gran. Sadly, my mum Alison died in 2005, and Avril in 2015.
