Hi, I'm trying to contact James Fentiger who posted re his Aunt? and a letter she received from Percy as provided in his post.
I am doing family research for Percy's granddaughter Margot Keyte (nee Needham) and would love to get a copy of the letter as he has mentioned he is happy to provide a scanned copy.
I have read the transcription of the letter out to Margot and it would mean alot to her to have a copy of the handwritten letter. I would appreciate it if this message can provide a connection to James to facilitate this. Thanks, Lee

I was thrilled to receive an email alert saying that you had responded to my post from last August about Percy's letter. It was a hope of mine to be able to share the letter with Percy's family, and I'm delighted to know that you're currently researching for Percy's granddaughter, Margot.
I still have scans of the letter which I'd be happy to email you. I also have several photos of my Great Aunt Margery and of the V.A.D. Hospital in Cottenham. There is also a photo of a group of soldiers standing outside the Hospital. One of them is wearing a Highlanders cap, and it's possible this could also be Percy. I will also send the photos, so you might be able to confirm by matching against other photos?
I will send you a private message on here with my contact email.
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon,
James

Re: Percy Webber McCulloch WW1
Hello everyone. I am posting here on behalf of a dear friend here in Fife in Scotland.Jack W wrote: ↑Fri Feb 20, 2015 9:45 pm My goodness, it took my granddaughter (Karen McCulloch) to ring me up last night with the above information about Percy Webber McCulloch and my mother Jeannie Lauchlan McCulloch, along with my sister Edna. However I have no knowledge of Harold - when he was born or when he died. I have never heard his name mentioned in any family discussion.
I am the son - Jack - brought up in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty New Zealand. I was fostered by Mum & Dad and then legally adopted when 13 years of age. I did not find out about my birth details until I was married and aged 34, while teaching at a country school near Whangarei.
Karen [mentioned above] is the second daughter of our son Perry, whom Lois and I adoprted.
It is really a mystery to hear about Harold. I wonder if there was another McCulloch somewhere along the way?
.Dad's brother Bill came out to New Zealand after his wife died. I visited Ardrossan And Saltcoats when I came over to the UK in 1960. I'm now 80 and living in a retirement village north of Auckland.
Any further information about my family would be appreciated
We believe his father William McCulloch was a brother of Percy. William was born in 1897. In 1934 he married Margaret Kerr. Their son Joseph was actually born before they were married and the birth was registered after the marriage.
What we don't understand is that Joseph was left with his grandparents or I think possibly just his grandmother and in 1935 was adopted.
He was adopted as Robert McCabe Queen, but is known as Roy.
The problem is, he has no idea what happened to his birth parents, or why the left him.
The family did hire a professional genealogist to investigate but could find nothing out.
I have also been trying to help him, which first led me to Watson Cottage, 12 Ardrossan Road, Saltcoats, and now to here.
it's the mention of "Dad's brother Bill coming out to New Zealand after the death of his wife" that interests me. Could this Bill be the William we are looking for?
Would anyone have any more information? I know Roy always wondered why he felt he was "abandoned" in a sort of way, and although he may never get an answer to that, any information regarding his birth parents would be much appreciated!
My name is Pat and I first met Roy when I was out for my daily exercise during lockdown. He had and still has a beautiful borzoi dog and it was after I met him a few time with his dog that we got into the habit of meeting up. I have been ordered to keep an eye on him by his daughter and grand daughter as he is nearly 90 now and they live elsewhere in Fife.
