Hi dodobird, thank you for replying to my message. It is great to hear from one of David's family members.
Most of the information you have sent me on his ancestry, I did already have, other then the information on "living" people.

Were you able to see the public tree on ancestry with photos that I have put there?
Also, (a strange coincidence), a few years ago I found an old photo from 1907 in an antique shop in New Westminster, BC. I immediately recognized the little boy in the photo as being David Bone Seaton and his father William Reid Seaton. There were two women in the photo. I would guess that one was Annie (Bone) Seaton. It would have been just before she died. I was trying to guess who the other woman could possibly be and I thought perhaps Annie's sister Jennie Gray (Bone) Steel. It would be great if you could take a look at the photo and see if you recognize anyone. The photo was taken at a studio in Scotland even though the family was living in South Africa at the time. Annie died at the Brick House, Stambridge Road, Great Stambridge, Essex, 2 miles east of Rochford. The residence of her sister Jeannie Gray (Bone) Steel and brother-in-law, John Steel, in 1907 of typhoid fever. I have a photo of that house and also her gravestone marker in Essex England where she is buried.
I have also been in contact with a distant cousin of David's in Scotland. He is in his 80's, and his daughter. He remember's when David left Scotland at the age of 16. They kept in touch by Christmas card every year then he just stopped hearing from your Dad and had always wondered what had happened. He was "gob smacked" to hear from me.

It would be great to get in touch and exchange information. I am so happy to hear from you. My email is nancymjd@gmail.com
