I noticed going passed on the bus a few times hasties was closed, but work was goin on inside, i assumed it was renovations they were doing, but when I went passed on the bus today they were still working inside but above the door was home hardware sign, sadly hasties have gone, I don't know if he has retired and there is no one else to take over, but that's an institution gone, im almost 70 and I remember hasties when I was a schoolboy, you mentioned largs and hasties came to mind very sad .

they sold everything, i used to go in there for fishing tackle, but they were well known for different brands of very expensive of whiskey when I say expensive it could be like £99 a bottle and a lot of times it could go into the hundreds

They closed xmas eve. Wrights hardware will open shortly.
