I've searched for a Saltcoats thread but can't find one but I know there are a couple of Victorians post on other threads, usually when they are playing against them.

It's too tame for me this year and in the interests of letting things settle down I have refrained from devil's advocate postings under different avatars ... however, all connected with the club are making a fist of it this year so any complaints should be insignificant ones. (The lentil soup's no' a patch on last year's and Bicket's pies are no as good as Killie Pies and they don't premix the bovril so by the time you get to the bottom of the cup there's an oil slick which you have to scoop out with a broken bit of the plastic cup.)

I still search the Sunday papers for the Winton Rovers result (which strangely no one ever posts on Threetowners for the benefit of those of us who have moved elsewhere but retain an interest) and saw today that they had a 3-1 victory over Lugar Boswell in the first round of the 'NEW COIN HOLDINGS CUP'. Looking at the range of teams amongst the other results I'm thinking this might be a new sponsor for the Scottish Junior Cup? Yes/No?

For Saltcoats Victoria footie fans get yourself along to Campbell Park on Saturday for a 2:30 kick-off against Maud FC from Aberdeenshire in the 2nd round of the Scottish Junior Cup.

Buffs are away at Dalkeith, just south of Edinburgh but the best spectacle will probably be at Irvine Meadow versus Benburb. Medda's pies are excellent ( a choice of Steak or mince or mince wi' onions ) although Saltcoats use Kandy Bar pies so they're no so bad either.

Good win for the Buffs today brianf. 6 - 3 in the cup against Darvel. They're off to a flying start this season having scored 33 goals in 6 games and are clear at the top of the ADL league. They have a large squad with a good mixture of experience and younger guys and are expected to be promoted again, probably with the Winton Rovers as well.

Both teams have secured promotion and play their last league games tomorrow.
Winton play Darvel away from home and a win or draw will see them crowned league champions.

Kilwinning Rangers play Lugar Boswell at Lugar only a win for buffs and a defeat for Winton would see Buffs crowned league champions.

Winton are taking two buses of supporters to Darvel and God willing I will be on one of them.
