On my morning walk
Temperature is to reach 40 Celsius today, that's the reason for the sign. These photos were taken prior to 8 a.m. while I was on my morning walk. Some will notice in this first shot that the BBQ area beyond the sign is where we had our Sunday morning fry-up during our 2008 Australian reunion. below that - designated doggy beach then a pelican on its usual vantage point waiting for recreational fishing boats to arrive. filleting scraps anticipated.

A few days ago. The tall ship Enterprise arrived in the early morning during my walk - it's here for our Mussel festival. Our harmonica band does regular sailings in her, both here and in our regional city, Geelong - like the ship's crew we are all volunteers and love it.

Hughie,
Just you keep strolling in your 40+ celsius with your shorts and your T shirt . I think it was -3 or thereabouts when I was on the south bank of the Clyde this morning at 8 o'clock. And if the old SHEPHERD'S WARNING is anything to go by we're in for an interesting end to the week in the UK.

As well as the rest of the views, of course. Looks such a beautiful area.

Great photo, Penny. Cannae think about the Erskine Bridge without remembering in earlier times when the Erskine ferry used to run and a poor unfortunate in an invalid car rolled of the back of the ferry and drowned. Some things just stick in the mind.

Re: On my morning walk
Haaaa !! Perhaps not !! I was already under attack round near Saltcoats harbour a couple of months back. The birds are dangerous round @ the Harbour. Apparently though it is a very lucky thing to have a bird poo on your head. A sign of good fortune to come....Hughie wrote:Then you're welcome to walk under it.VivAyrshire wrote:I LOVE that bird. Strange that what you need when this happens is something called 'sham poo'VivAyrshire wrote:...Apparently though it is a very lucky thing to have a bird poo on your head. A sign of good fortune to come....
I'm still saving up for a signature.

Ah the good old Erskine ferry.
We used to call it, 'HMS backanfurrit.'

The incident to which you refer occurred, I think, on the 18th of June 1963.
Joseph Gray, (60), and Thomas Graham, (43), both resident at Erskine Hospital, drowned when their car crashed through the ferry barrier.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

That would be the accident I was thinking about, Penny.
