Amazing what some sunshine can do.

Post by Retsum »

Image
I took advantage of the sunshine yesterday to get this shot of copper beeches (that is what my wife says they are - I would not have a clue!) on a path at Fyvie Castle. The sun on the leaves really makes them sparkle although reducing the image for PhotoBucket has removed some of the glow.

Drop dead GORGEOUS. Where is Fyvie Castle?? How much does it cost to get in, and do they have a cafe??

Fyvie is about 20 miles north west of Aberdeen on the A947. The castle and grounds are owned by the National Trust for Scotland and admission to the grounds is free. If you are a member of the NTS, admission to the castle is free, otherwise it is £11 (adult), £27 (family) and £8 (concession). It does have a shop and tearoom and the castle can be hired for functions. It is just down the road from us in Turriff.

lovely pic. Copper beech was a favourite of mine growing up. There used to be a row of them by the tennis courts down the rec.
