Bonzo,
The old cricket ground is shown on the 1947 OS map near Ardeer Golf Course, near Lundholm Road.

I'm not that old . I'm sure we used to play on the big cricket screens on wheels "up the rec" but maybe not. Thanks Irene.

There definitely was cricket on the ardeer rec. remember it well. Look into Iain Maclaren who was general secretary back in the seventies and eighties. Pretty sure he done a piece for the ardrossan Saltcoats herald a wee while ago

PROPOSED BRIDGE OVER THE BURN

Last night at a meeting of Stevenston Parish Council, a letter was read from Mr. Laidlaw, Ardeer House, suggesting the erection of a new bridge over the burn leading to the beach and offering a subscription towards the cost.

It was agreed that Mr. George Sinclair, chairman of the council, should call on Mr. Warner, proprietor of the ground, in order to get his sanction to the proposed erection.

Afterwards a meeting to further the scheme is to be called.
