STEVENSTON - THE FLOOD

At a meeting last night - Mr Charles Smith in the Chair - a committee was appointed to visit the dwelling-houses which were flooded and supply the most necessitous with bedding.

In the homes where the flood entered the bedding had been so much damaged that it had to be destroyed, and in many cases the owners have not been able to replace it.

It has also been decided to open a subscription list in aid of the sufferers.

Steps are being taken to ascertain the actual amount of damage done by the flood, with a view to giving the information to the committee of the County Council.
