MUNICIPAL MEETING – SALTCOATS

Provost McIsaac presiding, to consider the provisions of the new Burgh Police (Scotland) Act.

The present officials were re-appointed.

Several devices were suggested for the burgh seal, but the matter was held over till the July meeting.

It was decided to hold a special meeting to consider whether the burgh assessments on tenants at and under £4 should be levied from the proprietors, or whether the present mode of assessing the tenants themselves should be continued.

It was agreed to print and circulate among the builders and tradesmen in the burgh the provisions of the Act with reference to building.
