My Neck Of The Woods (2)

The last few days have been great in Aberdeenshire with wall-to-wall sunshine so we have been out with my camera.

The first image is of the trees in the park (The Haughs) here in Turriff.



The other day we went to Monymusk where there is a tree-lined path running along the river Don. Looking across the river you get a view of Bennachie (Ben-ah-hee) which at 1500 ft. tends to dominate the landscape of central Aberdeenshire.



We also visited Strichen (Alex Salmond's home town) where there is a large park with extensive woodland walks. The next two images were taken there. I particularly like the one with the young swans: not because of the swans but because of the surreal pattern of light and colour. In fact the lighting was so unusual that it fooled the white balance control of the camera which gave the signets a slight blue tinge (depending on your screen). I could have adjusted this in my editor but decided it enhanced the surreal experience I had while standing there.

that is some photo of the swans. It could be something that van Goch painted.

Very good pics Retsum.

I particularly like the tree lined path one, great composition. The swans pic also catches my eye a bit as I've taken a few similar type of photos - although they don't quite have the same visual impact as that one.
