Don't you mean did. If you think that's the way to treat children then you need help.bonzo wrote:Jings, mind the belt? Worse thing they ever done was get rid of it.
Re: School trips
Why is that? You DID something wrong you got 2 of the belt you learned a lesson. Now kids do something wrong they get suspended or expelled. I'd take the belt any day of the week.

South Ayrshire has a policy of "non exclusion" - not sure about the other Ayrshires - and expulsion is no longer allowed in Scottish schools.bonzo wrote:Why is that? I want to live in a civilised society not to go back to the dark ages.
Re: School trips

Re: School trips
In my Catholic school days you could get the belt for breathing! Classic memory Jim Clark of Saltcoats(think he was an football player?) versus Sister Brian...Jim, about 2 feet taller, got called out to get the belt, held out his hand, just as 'wee bree' swatted he took his hand away. This went on several times, him standing there, sardonic smile, totally enjoying it, the rest of us trying not to laugh out loud. Eventually we did, as did wee bree, sent him back to his seat!bonzo wrote:Why is that? You DID something wrong you got 2 of the belt you learned a lesson.
