Could be wrong, but I think the both of you might be off the mark here. Yes the Germans have been extremely poor in Russia (seen this coming from the 1st game), but surely his record with Germany since he became manager must mean something. Until this tournament, they had never failed to at least reach the semi finals under Joachim Low & more importantly he just signed an extension on his contract last month until 2022, taking in the next World Cup in Qatar.
Don’t think he will get sacked, but there is maybe a possibility that he might stand down.

Aye Lowe extended his contract last month until 2022 but as we all know football is about the here and now. There is bound to be a backlash and the manager is the first point of contact. I wonder if he might fancy a foray into club football.

The Germans are oot, to quote a well known torquay hotelier "don't mention the VAR"Scott McCallum wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 9:20 am I came across this and thought it was quite funny - tho' maybe not to Aussies. I have the whole thing - really long - but this gives you a taste!
(With apologies to the late great Edwin Starr).
(Menacing drum roll.....)
VAR!
Huuh! Yeah!
What is it good for?
Absolutely NOTHING!
uh-huh, uh-huh
VAR!
Huuh! Yeah!
What is it good for?
Absolutely NOTHING!
Say it again, y'all…
VAR!
Huuh! Good god!
What is it good for?
Absolutely NOTHING!
Listen to me, WHAAAA
VAR!
I despise
'Cause it means corruption in referee’s guise
VAR brings tears to thousands of fans’ eyes
When their teams go to fight
And lose because of lies

VAR!
Huuh! Good god, y'all
What is it good for?
Absolutely NOTHING!

Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

Re: 2018 World Football Cup - discussionghght.
Time to get back to the World Cup. What a changed game it is from my youth in the 1960s. Seems defenders are now holding back and passing the ball repeatedly to each other and the goalkeeper, trying to draw the opposition to create an opening - love when that goes wrong.

Right Hughie,
and they call it football. It's like watching paint dry.
I wish these guys would realise that they are there to entertain us with their skills and not just to win at any price.
A very fed up JD.
