HERO to ZERO in 9 months! The sacking of one of the best EPL managers will prove to be a grievous error. Despite Shakespeare's comment to the contrary, I believe the rumour of senior players back-stabbing. Of last season's Premiership-winning team, only Kante has departed. I read a breakdown of Leicester's goals which attributed 70% to Kante's influence in and from the midfield. Very good though he was, one player does not make a team.
The manager is the same man he was last season. His tactics, although they had to be adjusted for the loss of Kante, were similar if not the same this season. So, where does the blame lie for this embarrassing current performance?
1. Players "resting on their laurels"?
2. Other EPL managers better combatting Ranieri's tactics?
3. Were Leicester really a one-man (Kante) team?
All the players can't be sacked so, as usual, the Manager carried the can! Ranieri was popular with the fans, not only because he delivered the Championship, but also due to his likeable personality. I always enjoyed his post-match interviews.
Goodbye and good luck Claudio Ranieri.
