TV show - New Tricks

Post by Hughie »

Has James Bolam left New Tricks. Saw the latest episode the other week and he wasn't in it. The episode I saw had Sharon Small who played the part of Detective Sergeant Havers in the Inspector Lindley series - she wasn't playing a police woman in New Tricks. She's a Glasgow lass and a favourite of mine.

Favorite of mine too , I saw the one where he left , but the next episode was a rerun so , don't know if he comes back or not, will have to watch all the re runs, sometimes here they just play them willy nilly...

Bob and I noticed that, Morag. Hope someone can fill us in. Have got to the stage that I look out for it everytime I see an episode.

Yes, she was badly burned in a childhood accident.

Apparently, in the beginning, it was thought that this would preclude her from a career in acting, but she persevered - and won big time. She gets lots of accolades for her determination.

She's a very good actresss too.

PS Bolam has left. In the series, if I remember correctly, he got seriously ill and had to leave the team.

BTW, I saw an episode last night which played out in Glasgow. The Scots actors were made to look very amateur by the regulars.

Just to clarify, I meant that in the script, Bolam got ill. As far as I know, the real James Bolam is hale and hearty.

Not only has James Bolam left this series, but Sandra and Brian both leave next series - guess it is coming to and end .... Shame really, but guess all good things come to an end. Denis Waterman and Denis Lawson are taking it forward to another series.

I think we're into the third screening with Dennis Lawson in it - I'll watch it on our ABC's catch-up TV site tonight - It was screened on Friday here and is always enjoyable.
