Sandra,

I have no personal knowledge of the band but the following link may help jog one or two memories:

Hi there I was the organist with the chase about 17 years all the way through until they split up and went their seperate ways.I was very very saddened to hear about Jim Slaven we teamed up on 2 further occasions playing the club circuit Jim was the best ballad singer I ever worked with or heard he was a dear friend and it was after his funeral i found out Jim will always hold a special place in my heart.Im further shocked to find out about Joe he was a great Roadie and friend and was with the band for years then met a lovely girl when we stayed in Sunderland and wisely dumped us and married her and I never saw Joe again. I joined this forum today in order to reply to all that were enquiring. John Boyd is now in Oz and John Pettigrew in Hebrides Im still playing away.

I was an apprentice with John Boyd and went to see him when he was with the Trax before he joined the Chase.
Was also at achool with John Pettigrew although a wee but younger.
I remember one sunday when the Chase with Jimmy Slaven played outside in someones back garden up Corrie Crescent in Saltcoats. The Police were called and made them stop !

Wonder if he was related to Henry Slaven from Ardrossan. Back in the late fifties Henry had the first Norman Nippy mopped that I can remember seeing. He would be around 72 now.

I remember the Chase,I never saw them playing but worked with a guy at the armament depot Beith in the 70's called John Walker who was the drummer at that time.I was a big fan of Deep Purple then and I think the Chase covered some of their songs.
