Not in uniform, this is my brother Jim ( now deceased) receiving his campaign medal from the Malaya/Borneo secret conflict. I've no idea who the officer with the scrambled egg all over his tunic is , but the presentation was held in Edinburgh

I believe this photo was in the fall of 2007
The end of 32 years of service in both the British and Canadian Forces was in September 2009

In that first photo Hughie, you look uncannily like Stephen Hendry and the second one has you looking like a cross between a window salesman and a young Alan Whicker
The photo below is from the early 60's. My brother Danny is on the far left in the back row. He attended St Mick's and after that went on to spend 21+ years in the RAF, starting off here as a youngster at R.A.F. Hereford.

Re: Threetowners in Uniform
Ardrossan's Jim Armstrong, at Arnhem 1961. Jim was one of my class mates from Eglinton. I think Jim served 22 years in the paras - we are regularly in touch. Others at school with me also joined the paras including my late brother Robert (Bobby) Boyce McCallum, John Warnock and Jim Smith. I went up to Glasgow to Join but the recruiting office was closed - then oor Betty got her claws into me and whisked me off to Oz.

Image is that of David Sillars, uncle of member Anne in SA. David served in the second world war though the regiment is unknown. He was born in Stevenston in 1920 moved to Irvine when he got married and worked in the ICI all his life. He died in 2014 aged 94.

Hi Anne, if you're reading this.
Would you be family of our neighbours across the road in the 1950's in Castle Ave. in Stevenston?
There was George, John, David and Anne-Marie.
JD.

Hi John, I wasn't personally related to them but my Mothers side of the Family could have been. When my Granny Sillars passed away I am sure I remember those you mentioned being at the funeral. Regards

Three of my Ardrossan Eglinton school mates wearing their Para berets at the Ardrossan Highland Games on Sunday. They are left to right: Jim (Clem) Smith, the next two are unknown to me, then John Warnock and Jim Armstrong.
