Shooting in Ardrossan ?

Post by little plum »

I attended a funeral for D. Morrison, ex manager of the Ardrossan Co-op, on Saturday morning. Back at the Lauriston for tea and refreshments 2 Ardrossan lads were sitting at my table. One was named loues, he had a dry sense of humour, a bit like Chic Murray, I didn't catch his friends name, but he spoke with an English accent. I'm led to believe they are regulars in the Lauriston. They informed me that the top of Glasgow St. at Park Rd. had been co-ordained off by police, this shooting incident had taken place in the early hours of Saturday morning. Have any of the Ardrossan members heard anything.?

Hi LP, It happened at about 6am on Saturday morning, as 2 Cal-Mac workers were heading to work. They were both travelling in seperate cars, one behind the other, when they were shot at by an air-rifle, which had been fired from one of the flats. Luckily no-one was hurt but one of the pellets narrowly missed Jan Iverson's wife, who was sitting the front passengers seat. JD

Thanks for the update Jammy D, not as serious as first thought. Still bad enough though, I'm turning into a right wee gossip.

Hi,i know Jan very well. The real story is that a friend of mine, who works in Asda was walking to his work and was hit on the arm with an airgun pellet, fired from a flat on the "Even numbered side of Glasgow St",The culprits were arrested after Glasgow St was cordoned off for a couple of hours.I was told that they(Or them) took pop shots at
cars etc.The police have made arrests.I know the names, but it is obviouvsly sub judicial.

What's it coming to? Honest to God! I think the liberal, judicial, social, familial system, has a lot to answer for. I'm a fairly liberal socialist catholic, but by crickey, I'd skelp some bums!

No good skelping the bums now Morag. The bums should have been skelped 16 - 18 years ago.

Reminds me of the two characters who used to peep out of a bedroom window in Laird's Weir shooting schoolchildren coming home with an air pistol.
