Milda,

Little Plum just beat me to a post there. When you said 1947 both Little Plum and I were taken aback. He thought 1951 but my money was on 1952. We're both a bit mischievous but no' bad lads. :wink:

When did they stop using Buckreddan as a Maternity Hospital then. I heard it turned into a Nursing home in the last 80s.

I was born in Irvine Central 1965. Don't remember much about it as i was quite young at the time.

I was born at 3 Morris st. Largs at 12.25pm 23.8.46 in the back room of my grannies room and kitchen,
Dr. Boyd, the district nurse and granny in attendance.
Dad was in Germany waiting for demob was 6months before he saw my beautiful face.

I was born at home in Ford Street , Catrine on 24.3.46. but spent all my life in Kilwinning,the area i lived in was the woodwynd which was classified as the classy area at the time, unfortunately i cant say that about it now as it really looks very run down to me every time i go back for a holiday. :shock: :(

I was born at home in Cleethorpes, (I think), maybe Grimsby, umbilical cord wrapped 'round my neck, touch and go and to this day I'm sensitive aboot ma belly button! Don't even go there! My granmpa went oot tae find the doctor and when he got back I was already there.
