The Ardrossan Dams

I drove down the Dalry/Ardrossan Road yesterday and was surprised by the exceptionally low levels of water in the Munnoch, Busbie, and Mill Glen dams.
Does anyone know the reason for this. It certainly can't be shortage of rain!
