Montfode Braes Wood could that be what we called the "Bluebell Woods"
I see Whitlees Dam but not the farm, and where is Coalhill farm.
JD the guy with the bowler hat is probably the gaffer. Bowler hats were worn by shipyard gaffers partly as a sort of safety hat, protection against fallen items like rivets (accidentally or not)

Hard to tell, Angus. I'm trying to picture the railway and it seems to me the Bluebell woods might be lower than what we see as Montfode Braes Wood.meekan wrote:Montfode Braes Wood could that be what we called the "Bluebell Woods"
In the second image (repeated below). The building marked "Destructor", if that chimney alongside it is the one I recall on that spot, then what is marked as Destructor is the spot where Winton Foundry was to be. The other chimney on the right I'm guessing would be around the junction of Parkhouse Road and McDowall Avenue. as we now know it.
