Em. I don't have a henhoose at the bottom of my garden.. wid probably have tae get a special permit. So just have to make do with organic, free roaming hen's eggs. Supporting the local hen keeper.. ;)

That's exactly what I used to do when growing up in Whitlees Crescent in Ardrossan. We had a big hen run as did our neighbours. They eventually put a road in from the Gasworks lane, built houses there and called it McDowall Place.

Noo. craving eggs Benny again..well I've got smoked salmon and eggs and muffins and Hollandaise...noon if I only had the get up and go to get up and go..or someone to 'peel me a grape ' :))

I bought Asparagus from Aldis today how do you cook it do you take the thorns off . Good with poached or softly boiled eggs am told . Wife is on Diet so avoids bread.

great wi' Hollandaise.. but mibbe that's no on the diet? Ive done it roasted or steamed ..roasted wi' parmesan, olive oil..steamed/ boiled no so good but ok They urny thorns...lol! Unless ye'v a really tricky grocer.

Hi Brian I find it easier to just slightly peel the thorns off, they cook quicker. I thing they taste nicer..

we enjoyed asparugus with poached egg rather nice i simply grilled asparugus with a bit of butter the first poached egg was cooked alright but then the others came out all not so well i might have to change the water for each egg (damn).
This is the first time i have ate asparugus. now i am ready for a new challenge an artichoke :think:

No am no going for artichoke now . I cooked Butternut squash i cut it in half removed the seeds scored the flesh drizzled extra virgin oil . popped it in the oven at a middle heat for 40 mins scooped it out to a bowl added some butter and a wee blend . it was a good wee dip for a chicken salad i thought. To tell you the truth i think they ate it out of courtesy :roll:

put a egg in some leftover mince (if you have some) in the morning & cook then put on toast. nice break
