Is there good research in the Threetowners community for the Orr family in Saltcoats around 1800?
My 2xg grandmother was Agnes Orr, but it seems there were many Orr babies named Agnes in the area.
Agnes married William McCreadie in 1815 and according to the 1851 Scotland Census, she was born in Saltcoats around 1794, unless, of course, she embellished her age. She died before 1858, when William McCreadie married Eliza Pennie.
I have been unable to find Agnes' birth or her death.
I believe her parents to be Thomas Orr and Margaret Malcolm, but haven’t been able to confirm this. Thomas Orr is often repeated in the family naming, but this may be a different T.O.

Re: Query For Orr Family Researchers
I previously came across the following intimation the 22 July 1853 edition of the Glasgow Herald which may or may not be of interest:-
DEATH
At Glasgow Street, Ardrossan, on the 19th instant, AGNES ORR, wife of WILLIAM McCREADIE, Esquire, Her Majesty's Customs, Ardrossan.
