looking for O'Sullivan family/McNairney family

Post by janesims »

Hello - I'm new to this so hope I'm doing this right!
I'm looking for information about my great uncle, Patrick O'Sullivan. He was from Ireland but worked and lived in Saltcoats. Hewas born around 1876 and died in August 1942. His wife appears to have died around 1973. I don't know her name. He had 3 children, one of whom (Peggy) married a Mr McNairney in Saltcoats. Any pointers would be really helpful. Many thanks. Jane

Hi Jane - I've moved your post into Family Research where I am sure it will be seen by a wider audience. A warm welcome to the threetowners, and good luck with your search.

Jane,

I always recommend the following site, which glancing at it, includes -

The death of Patrick O'Sullivan - husband of Catherine Macken - died circa 7/8/1942 - Dalry Road, Saltcoats.

Also - the marriage of Margaret O'Sullivan - to Alexander McNairney - circa 18/10/1940.

I'm sure there will be other family intimations?????

Hi Penny
I can't get into the ayrshire-roots website and was wondering if there's a problem with it. I get as far as entering my search details then just get warnings.

The site is OK. Is your USERNAME all in lower case?

Make sure you have the right site.I always google Ayrshireroots Surnames,as there is another site for towns.

You want this one.
Ayrshire Surnames Index Database at Ayrshire-Roots

ayrshire-roots.co.uk/surnames.php

The Ayrshire Surname Index was originally started by Stephen Browning and then taken over by the late Iain Kerr. Iain`s family kindly gave permission for the database ...
