We saw it here in Lugano last year, but it was just all their songs, no story. Loved it. Would go again tomorrow.

Yes, I'd seen details of the Let it Be show creamolafoam, but like Glenshena said, it was mainly just their music. The Jersey Boys and the Small Faces shows actually followed the stories of the groups, whilst using their music as the sound track.creamolafoam wrote: There was/is a beatles story. "let it be". Seen it when it came to the winter gardens in blackpool, about three yrs ago. Brilliant it was too.

So glad of this extra day off. Odd how quiet the streets are, mind you.
Wee ice drink is on the cards for later.

Meg, would you happen to know if children who are left handed are still 'forced' by teachers to write with their right hand, as happened years ago. My three year old grandaughter always uses her left hand for colouring books.

The exact opposite Glenshena - we have left handed pencils (the cut outs to hold the pencils are shaped to a left hand), left handed scissors etc. The children are encouraged to do what is most comfortable for them. These things came way too late for me - although I wasn't discouraged from writing with my left hand - I can still remember the big welts on my fingers from using right handed scissors at craft time. I can't use a left handed corkscrew or can opener but am expert at adapting right handed tools.glenshena wrote:Meg, would you happen to know if children who are left handed are still 'forced' by teachers to write with their right hand, as happened years ago. One of my sons was ambidextrous, I let him choose either way. Once he started school he 'became' right handed, I think just placing pencils etc. in a right hand mindset influences that. He did have left brain / right brain issues, not easy for a kid (not easy, but interesting, for a mum!) He still sees the world a bit different, yes, he's the one who classically said 'only bald men have white hair..'

I started primary school more than half a century ago and from day one I was left handed, left footed, in fact just about left everything. I don't recall ever being forced or even encouraged by any school teacher's to switch hands, so this must have been before my time.glenshena wrote:Meg, would you happen to know if children who are left handed are still 'forced' by teachers to write with their right hand, as happened years ago. Mind you, it was a guid Catholic School I attended and I cannae speak for anywhere else.
The only thing I'm right handed at is Golf, but that's probably just down to the fact that the first set of clubs I owned were bought 'second-hand' and were right handed one's.

Remember starting my first ever full time job and being sent to the Ironmongers for a left handed screwdriver.
And don't get me started on the "Long Stand" stuff
