Walked to Ardrossan and back. Coming home was straight into a freezing head wind. Fortunately I found a bottle of St Bernard's in the cupboard and the thawing out process is begun.

Just answered the door minutes ago, lovely roses and gypsophia bouquet for my daughter from her man. Aw. He's working today, she has the day off, she's going to pick up a burrito or other 'man food' and take over to him, did we raise her right? Valentines goes both ways.

We had a Valentine's party lat night in our club. We had a poet in to recite some love poems - also some of his own. Then some of the members recited their favourites. I recited 'My love is like a red, red rose' to Ria and got a big round of applause and an even bigger cheeper from 'The Boss;' and I'm not speaking Bruce Springstein here. Got home late and have a mild headache this morning. Thank goodness I don't have to go to work any more. Mind you, if we were still working, we wouldn't have had a party in the middle of the week.

THE VALENTINE

A little girl I know in green,
Received a charming valentine.
And oh! she wished so very hard
To find out who had sent the card.
So straightaway she formed a plan,
Each likely fellow's face to scan.
"For if," she said, "he loves me so,
By looking in his eyes I'll know."

So off she set upon the trail,
But soon she knew her scheme would fail,
For every fellow in her quest
Seemed more love-stricken than the rest.
"My gosh!" she said, "it cannot be
That every man's in love with me."
They were! And each one might have been
The lad who sent the Valentine.

I see Mary Tyler Moore died. A lot of us grew up watching her on the tele. She had charisma and if she was an air hostess on a plane and it was in trouble her presence would keep you calm.
