I gave up after 3 days of pouring kettles of boiling water on to it as there was no difference. I remembered that on other occasions after a shower of rain or two they always disappeared. Low and behold, after yesterdays heavy shower of rain the mark is almost gone. What is in our environment at all? :(

Something I have never ever  seen before until today. Crossing into Switzerland I found road works and temporary traffic lights with a visible clock timer on them! I arrived that it was going down from 29, so I don't know at what time it started. Perhaps 60 seconds. I know that the Swiss are maniacal with their clocks and punctuality, but this is something I would never have imagined to exist. Or perhaps it exists also in GB?

Hi Jean,
Some years ago in Melbourne we used to have a few clock traffic controls in place of lights. When you approached them you could see how long till they changed to amber and red. I'm wondering if that's what you mean? There's an image here when we spoke about it. See: https://www.threetowners.net/forum/view ... 77#p102577

No Hughie. It was just an ordinary black and white round dial number clock counting down to Zero when the light then turned Green. Very simple and effective. A nice thought towards the motorists. At least you know how long you've got to wait. //perfect

I seem to remember Jimmy Johnsone died of SLA. Alzheimers, Dementia, SLA. Who's left of the Great Lisbon Lions and what are their health conditions?

The clock traffic lights are used a lot in the Philippines, there is a large digital clock sits above the 3 or 4 lanes and it counts down to zero and green turns on and of you go. I have gone through them on a number of occasions with no problem, I also stood and watched one for more than half an hour with no incident happening. They certainly worked very well when I observed them. They were all at intersections where there were at least 3 lanes or 4 lanes of traffic moving in three or four directions, I thought they were great and also that a third world country could be pretty so far ahead of us so called first world communities in traffic control.

P.S. Has anyone spotted my deliberate mistake?
