A very strange week, I ran into a bunch of vegans demonstrating next to the slaughter house in Ardrossan. It was difficult because they were nice folk but when I said my favourite meat was lamb I was told that it wasn't lamb but that it was a living creature which made me feel uneasy. We all hate cruelty unless your nuts but their attitude came across as hard to fathom. However maybe I should reconsider what i'm eating because the sausages I ate yesterday gave me such disgusting wind that I'm wondering what they fed those pigs on. What a stink.

I'm probably the archetypal Scottish man I don't go to the doctors so I can't really comment on the system.
What I can say after my wee stay in hospital is that the staff are wonderful, from the cleaners to the consultants gave you as much time as they could (they must have more hours in the day) always with a smile and a joke really puts you at ease. I couldn't praise them highly enough and thanks again to everyone on here for your kind thoughts.

Never tried that though I once had a bellini in Harry's bar only once because the price was extortionate. I think peach is a nice mix with alcohol.

I see Katie Boyle has dies at the ripe old age of 91. To me she was one of those people who had such charisma that if she was the air hostess on a plane that was going to crash with her being there it wouldn't seem so bad. Not many folk like her and we should remember her with joy.

When you stated made, I thought you had made it from scratch. Mushrooms are interesting, when they grow in the wild .In season they rise with the moon especially the full moon in November. If you ever gather them in the early morning they are delicious not like the farmed stuff. Country folk ken about these things though are often conservative In their choice. Most are edible but a mistake can be fatal. I myself have gathered and eaten loads delicious fried with bacon in the pan.
