Got my cards this morning in the Marie Curie shop. They all have a Scottish theme which I like. they were a big success last year. But the larger size means unfortunately more expensive postage. I was thinking about you Viv, it will be a sad time for you this year.

Thanx !! First year I will have to buy myself a birthday cake !!!!

Yep. Birthday and Xmas will be difficult this year. The first year should be the toughest.

Got my eye on a cake in Sainsbury. Wall to wall chocolate.

Just back from a wonderful concert in Largs, a tribute to Simon and Garfunkel. Very professional artists. The theatre was full, mostly all over 70s , who couldn't get enough of the great 60s music. I still have'"Mrs Robinson" ringing in my ears. Well done Largs, makes me wish I could come over more often. 🎶🎶

Over the years I've had too many days spending both Christmas and Birthdays on my own. Yes the first one is always the hardest but rest assured you get sort of used to it - not entirely but if you start making Wee things that become a tradition to you it can help. Like weather permitting going for a ride on your bike or inviting a friend over for a meal.
In this town there is a community meal on Christmas day for those who are on their own. I've been to one of those and you donate what you can or if you can afford it what you pay for a meal when you go out. If you don't want to participate then you. can volunteer to serve or help cook the meal. Might be a thought if there's one in Stevenston.
Like the idea for wall to wall chocolate birthday cake - Yum. 😋

Passing through Irvine Center yesterday afternoon just as St.. Michaels school was coming out, I was shocked to see the length of the girls tubular skirts, quite indecent for a Catholic school. Worn with black transparent tights, where the panty hose could be seen, this is hardly what I would call a School Uniform. Is this normal in Scottish schools? Surely the head teacher shouldnt put up with that.

Ravenspark Academy (not a Catholic school) sits fairly close to Irvine town centre, so that's another possibility to add as to which school the pupils were from.

I think there's been debates and disagreements on this sort of issue going on just about everywhere for as long as I can remember.

The good thing though is that it kinda reminds me a bit of this great film from the 60's. And this wee lassie was an absolute show stopper back then.

I had no idea St. Michaels had become St.Mathews. I 'm away from Ayrshire 45 years so dont keep up wirh all the llocal news. Please forgive my ignorance. Passing Ardrossan Academy I never saw anything like what I saw in Irvine.
