An hours less sleep for you in the UK, clocks go forward one hour - our clocks in Oz (Eastern states apart from Queensland) go back one hour next Sunday.

Had a lovey Mother's Day lunch with my son. Hope no dramas for him this week when he is back in London, thanks for your concern x

I woke up suddenly last night because I was sure I could hear mad laughter in the house. Must have been dreaming it though.

I felt someone lift the quilt the other week. Was trying to shout for help but could not. Had that nightmare several times. V unpleasant.

Don't worry Viv its called sleep paralyses. When you are asleep your body goes into shut down so that you don't fall out of bed. If you wake up suddenly your body takes time to return to normal and does not accept messages from the brain. Its scary but harmless.

Saw a specialist consultant at Crosshouse hospital today and have been diagnosed with a double hernia. I'm getting 'Keyhole' surgery a couple of months or so further down the line to fix things.
Not unduly worried though as it's a fairly common condition - in most cases patients are in and out of hospital on the same day.

I'm thinking that I've been quite fortunate really (touch wood) as the only time previously that I've spent on a hospital bed was in 1981 at Ballochmyle, where I underwent some minor surgery for a Nasal condition.

Ha ha! Brings back memories of having an op for the same thing. My Kilwinning pal and I were going down our local pier here in Oz on our morning walk and I felt uncomfortable. The pain eased when I lay on my back and stuck my legs in the air - gravity is a great thing. Operation was done in an afternoon. That was ten or so years ago.

Never been one to pass up a free meal bonzo, so I'm actually looking forward to it now. :)

Hughie, you mentioned lying down and sticking your legs in the air. When I saw the specialist today one of the things he asked me to do at the time was to put both heels together and then lift up my feet. :)
