Hoping your health problems improve Bob. Selling a home can be a long drawn out affair too . At the moment I am admiring my great grand daughter (first one)) she is a wee beauty ill put a picture in later. I also just watched Despicable Me just loved it.

Just back from picking our youngest grandson from his first day at school. Happy to say there were no tears from child or parents ( or grandparents) . He was proud to report that he got a gold star. Must take after me.

Picking up is always easier than dropping off isnt it Netta. Gold star on his first day - wow, must be a high flier just like his gran (or is it nana?)
Re: The ... What are you doing or thinking right now - Topic
It's Gran, Meg. We did go for drop off too, no show without punch. Bob and I are dropping him off tomorrow as Mum and Dad are working so we get one on one with him. Grand-daughter has crèche .
Glad we can come up to help when needed.

I don't know how I would have managed without my dad. Ian might have had a rich vocabulary (!) being looked after by my dad, but it was worth it. Grandparents are pure gold

Too true Meg, was protected from My mum's wrath many a time by gran and grampa! I distinctly remember gran holding me behind her (good sized) back and moving me from side to side so mum couldn't get me, she wasn' abusive, I was just naughty, curious...back then a guid skelping was considered normal, for some reason gran took to me....she wasn't known for that, but, I was pudgy and huggable then

Our daughter and her family left Australia this afternoon on a 7 month round the world trip of a lifetime. They were on an hourly countdown till they left, now Gran is on a countdown till they return. Just as well we are up in Sydney with our other two grandchildren to take my mind off it today. Now I have some idea how my poor Dad must have felt when I left Ardrossan to come to Australia.

It'll be no time till they're back, Netta. What a great adventure! We've penciled in the west coast USA later in the year if all goes well - it's only a twelve hour flight!

What a fantastic experience for them Netta, but I can understand how you feel. Mind you - with skype, facetime etc.etc. you can keep in touch for pennies - but it's not the same - is it!
