My favourites were fruit pudding, followed by tatties and mice with Bisto gravy. Even better if you could get them both on the same plate. In the sweet department Smarties were the best, we now have M & Ms over here instead which I ocassionaly eat by the bagful when the Wee Wummin isn't looking.

I would have to say cheese - from the simple Primula cheese spread on oor breakfast rolls in Saltcoats as a wee boy to a good bitey vintage Mersey today. No connoisseur of fancy cheeses though. You can keep the smelly, mouldy ones! Wee Ali

How could I forget Howie's rolls. I'd come off night-shift at the factory, go home on my bike, stop at Howie's and stuff the rolls up mah jooks. Mmmmmm, hot rolls, melted butter and bacon for breakfast //perfect .

Ayrshire Tatties tossed in oatmeal and butter. Buchanan toffees. Boiled tin of condensed milk (provided it didn't explode)

Condensed milk sandwiches, loved them, used to hurry home from school at lunchtime to watch the one o' clock gang and sometimes had them for lunch. When I was pregnant with two of my boys ,I just kept an open tin and a spoon in the cupboard ,yum! yum!.
