I'd not like that. Here I'm fairly close to where they hold drag races every so often, as if the noise from regular traffic, planes etc. isn't enough. I know lots of folk are into it and it probably boosts local economy, but I prefer peace and quiet

You should live here there is total silence and you know people have said to me how do you cope with that and I say you get used to it and I love it. The downside is it makes you more sensitive to sounds.

Me - It's approaching 3pm in the afternoon and the wind is rustling the blinds 'cause the windows are open.
I can hear the wee birds whistling and there's the sound of a TV documentary in the background.
I expect to hear Judge Judy screaming in the background shortly - might go for a walk.

The toot from the ferry about to leave for Melbourne, the signal that it's leaving in three minutes.
