RAIN NAMES

I was speaking to a wean today who correctly observed it was starting to rain - but when I asked her what kind of rain it was she seemed puzzled.

At the material time it was a "SPIT" of rain.

What other types of rain were we brought up to know?

Scots mist - still gets ye soaked though!, smirring - a wee bit heavier than Scots mist, sprinkling - a wee bit heavier yet, raining, etc. as above, to comin' doon in buckets!
