It's actually a 1966 model. The photo was taken in 1970, 4 weeks after I got my driver's licence. I never liked driving automatic cars. The only times I ever drove one was when I was learning to drive, and a few years ago when I had the use of a Smart for 2 weeks (now that would be a real challenge re shennanigans, Wee Ali). Hope you find that photo...
Take care.....Irene

Here's mine. I'm sitting on the ground to the right, my Dad is in the "vehicle" and my sister is trying to get in. The photo would have been taken around 1977.

These big kids eh?
Cheers Elvis, a bit off the subject, but I remember as a small child, maybe around the age of 4-6, being allowed by my Dad, to sit on his lap as he drove, holding the steering wheel. Thinking about it using common sense, it seems a completely ludicrous now, but I remember being absolutely thrilled at the time.

Thanks, Catherine, I'm flattered.
We never got them on tv here. We only had 3 tv channels then and everything was from Germany - except some films.

Harry, I've vague memories of that car. I'm thinking it might have been a relative of Mrs Phillips who lived next door to us - could have been a brother who lived in the states. Surname would have been Melville and I think he was pretty high in the World Junior Chamber of Commerce - could have even been the president. Mrs Phillips (Laura) had a brother in Broadway (the street that is ) just a few doors up from Jessie Sim. Elizabeth her daughter was about four years older than me.
Hi Hugh.
sorry to be late answering that is the car it was Pale blue
Ford populer we got ours in 1962.
We got rid of the big American Indian to get it. as we had
a boy and I did not like to take him in the side car of the
Indian. Thank you for the Photo.
Best wishes. Ellen.
