We have a saying in Italy:-

' Moglie e Buoi paese tuoi.' This means literally - Wives and Oxen stay in your own country. In other words women should marry men only from their own country.

It's a true saying. So many Italian marriages have floundered when the wife is a 'foreigner' . Especially if her husband is from South Italy. Too much difference in their cultures. But if they live in her country of origin the chances of success are higher.

I tend not to care, BUT the press ? Was it racist towards Meghan?........I think it was the Mail and the Express, don't know if there were others?
If it was those two, then I believe the critism would be well founded
Are they Celebrities? No...... One is royality, and whose great grandfather German,Belgium,Portugese , Grandfather Phil the Greek as Private Eye calls him(or did)...The other American which is supposed to be a melting pot.Is it?

You're probably right,Although of the mainstream the Guardian might be an exception( I haven't read in about 4 years,so can't really tell)

I tend to think of a film of wild life running after their prey, and then attacking, the standard of journalism doesn't help

Stivis, I was saying that tongue in cheek. I definitely didn't mean only the British Press. You get it all over theo World , maybe even Canada.

I think we have gone overboard on what is offensive, or racist, etc. Not so long ago we had the Scottish Government sending Christmas cards omitting Christmas and replacing it with seasons greetings, in case anyone was offended. Now my Moslem friends were quite happy to sell and send Christmas cards wishing me a Happy Christmas.
Other examples are Robertson having to remove the golliwog from their jam jars, and books( like Uncle Toms Cabin) being removed from school libraries. I'm told I can't have a Chinkie now or shop at the Pakkies. Nigger brown is no longer a colour. what next Scottish people offended about being called Jock or Australians being called Aussies. We had a saying at school "sticks and stanes will break my banes but words will never hurt me"
Real racism is when some one is being denied something because of creed or colour.
So lets get on with it and stop being so darned sensitive.
