Chinese food

We occasionally buy chinese food, the likes of soya spaghetti and cantonese rice, also occasionally frozen sea food,but have noticed twice in the past two weeks the food has been 'slimey' and not what we are used to. Checking the date, it was well within the sell by date. The rice was fine but the soya and frozen sea food were different from usual. I couldn't eat it. Just wondering if they are now including jelly fish in their produce now, as there is such an abundance of these creatures all over the world. However eating out in a cinese restaurant last Friday everything was as good as usual.
