Re: Video Fake News - is it coming?
Hughie,
make no mistake, this is happening and I think that this is a terrifying prophesy.
IT technology has opened the ultimate Pandora's box.
If there are any Isaac Azimov readers out there, he wrote his famous 'Robot' novels with a very similar message back in the 20's and 30's.
The robots were programmed in such a way that they would not allow any harm to come to humans. The robots took this to the ultimate extreme and made virtual prisoners of the humans by not allowing them to do anything dangerous.
Cause for some serious thought.
I'm glad I will not have to live through the next 50 years. I really worry about the grandchildren.
JD.
PS; if any of you are tempted to read the Azimov novels, be aware, the writing style is absolutely TERRIBLE.
(- 1930's American comic-strip style) But the plot and the underlying message is worth the effort.
