Folk music

Post by Bruce »

I know there are a few “folkies” on this forum....

If you only get along to see one gig this year - here’s the one.

“Auld Hats, New Heids”

Ian Bruce (guitar & vocals), Fraser Bruce (vocals), Pete Clark (fiddle), Gregor Lowrey (accordion).

It’s good stuff. They’ve been touring this one around the country for the last year, and they’ve got a couple of local(ish) gigs coming up soon - Kilbarchan Old Library on 7 April, and Irvine Townhouse on April 21.

I'm bringing friends to Scotland for a tour in the summer. We are traveling round UK for the first 3 weeks in June. They are musical types and I was hoping to arrange for us to go to a concert. Folk or classical, - no pop, would be appropriate.
I've been all over the internet looking for something in the whole UK, but can find nothing suitable at that time. Something like auld hats, new hieds would be perfect.
Anybody got any suggestions.
JD.

Auld Hats New Heids is definitely at the Townhouse - just spoke to Frazer. I think it was originally going to be at Vineburgh.

I’ve not seen it yet. Frazer says he’s heard it’s a nice place to play.

Thanks Meg.
I'd seen most of those.
The best is the 8th in Arran, Oban and Kieth, but we're in Perth then; all booked up and deposit paid. :(
