You have to enjoy this from the Corries - we've featured it before.

How nice to see Portree Hughie. Reminissing a little bit, my mothers grandfather had a But and Ben at Camuschinavich, just below the 'three sisters' mountain range, where she used to spend her summer holidays as a child. We went back on a sentimental journey, she was in her mid 70's, stayed in a nice B&B on the front, and had a wee walk roon the toon. She remembered the hospital which was still there. The But & Ben has since collapsed into a pile of stones, one of which I took away with me as a souvenir. The car ferry across was one of the charms of the journey but now it is replaced by a bridge. On the way home we went to Iona, passing through the Mull of Kintyre. One of her aunts had a restaurant on Iona and she worked there one summer during the school holidays so wanted to see it again. It was the year John Smith, a Scottish political candidate, , had died, and had been taken to Iona for burial. She wanted to see his grave as she liked him very much. Iona was the burial ground for all Scottish Kings, It was very interesting. And very cold! her uncle, killed in the first world war, had his name on the war memorial on Iona. Another uncle has his name on the war memorial at Fort William, another place close to her heart. She went there often on caravan holidays which we loved. She was very happy to have come for a last visit to Skye and relive her memories of bygone days. I wish I could go back and show my family their heritage but its such a long drive.
